It really made me look at all of the processes that go into doing a task. It helped me to see what exactly could change and make things more efficient and have less waste. Overall it helps me look at the big picture and find the root causes of problems

Relevant to both professional and personal life

Our group used a process that is currently an issue in my office and we were able to work through it. It highlighted areas that we can address right away and what we need to do more evaluation of the process and look to the root cause of the issues. My take away is that we can apply this to many issues large and small to make our department eliminate waste.

The practical knowledge to possibly implement the practices in my home life. It also provided me information so that I am able to did deeper into the reason why a failure is occurring on my team/dept. rather than accepting complaints and making up excuses. I also liked that everyone attending was from the district so we all had a foundation of understanding the selected group examples.
